NAPIER RSA

The Napier RSA was founded in 1916 by local men who saw the need for an organisation to support and assist those soldiers returning from both Gallipoli and the European conflicts. Many were physically and mentally affected by the war and were finding it hard to re-adjust and fit into society.

the Returned Soldiers Association

In 1916 they formed the Returned Soldiers Association a safe, understanding, and social environment, far removed from the horrors of conflict. During the years changes were made to involve the wider community and is now known as a Returned Service Association Inc (RSA).

Membership 100 years ago was limited to only Returned Servicemen and women, now the Napier RSA doors are open to all forces personnel, their families, and the entire community.

Together we share remembrance, compassion & camaraderie as a legacy to the past and our tribute to the future. NZRSAs are a proud part of the fabric of New Zealand society and demonstrate its motto “People helping people”.

The Napier RSA has exceeded the visions of our founding members and has produced exceptional results with the integrity of their founding objectives which remain as robust as they did in 1916.

Interior of a casual dining area with a bar and four people sitting at tables, some talking, with a sign that reads 'Napier Returned Services Assn.' above the bar.
Inside view of a sports bar or restaurant with multiple tables and chairs, some customers seated and reading menus, large TV screens showing horse racing, and a bar area in the background.

We have an active Veterans Support Team who are only a phone call away to support all Returned and Service persons with any concerns or help they may need.

In 2025 Napier RSA made the decision to rebrand and trade under the name Clubs Napier, this rebrand is a statement of intent we are here to stay, we are committed to being a vibrant, welcoming and forward-thinking establishment.
